Purchase Access to High Resolution Color Imagery from DigitalGlobe

By purchasing access to the premium DigitalGlobe imagery available in Global Mapper, you gain access to the unwatermarked version of the highly detailed and up-to-date imagery, as well as the ability to export the data to new files, use the imagery as reference when rectifying other data files, and add vector layers from the imagery servers, like roads, boundaries, etc. Note that you need to be a registered user of Global Mapper to access the DigitalGlobe imagery. You can purchase a license of GlobalMapper from the Purchase page if you need one.

Access to the imagery is purchased by the number of pixels downloaded from the DigitalGlobe servers. The actual amount of ground area covered will depend on the resolution at which the data is downloaded. The table below shows the various purchase levels and the approximate amount of actual surface area that would be covered by that amount of data if downloaded at 1 meter resolution.

Purchase Level Approximate Ground Coverage at 1m Resolution Price (USD) Purchase
Small 100 sq mi (260 sq km) [262,144,000 pixels] $499.00 Purchase
Medium 250 sq mi (655 sq km) [655,360,000 pixels] $999.00 Purchase
Large 650 sq mi (1,700 sq km) [1,703,936,000 pixels] $1999.00 Purchase

Note that when you access your imagery you are not limited to any one particular area. The imagery be downloaded in small chunks as required for viewing and export of the data at a particular zoom range. Each small chunk reduces your available download "bucket". You can continue to pull in imagery at various zoom scales from any locations that you want provided that you have not used up all of your available purchased download "bucket".

The calculation of exactly how much data you will need to purchase for a particular area is not trivial, but you can get a good approximation of how many square miles that you would need to purchase at 1 meter resolution (the units quoted above) by using the following formula:

required_1m_sq_miles = desired_area_sq_miles / ( export_res_meters ^ 2 * cos( latitude_of_area_center ) )

It is probably a good idea to add 5-10% to this total to account for any tile overrage and also for any usage while just browsing the data at different zoom levels.

Payment for access to the imagery can be made by credit card, bank transfer, check, purchase order, or PayPal. Please contact support@globalmapper.com to arrange payment or use the "Buy Now" buttons above. Once your purchase is complete, you will be provided with a client ID to enter into Global Mapper to access the data. If you already had a DigitalGlobe client ID, it will be extended by the purchased amount of data.
